Fortalezas in Florianópolis

Santa Cruz de Anhatomirim Fortress stands on an island in North Bay and forms part of the colonial defense system. It is historic heritage reached by boat.

São José da Ponta Grossa Fortress, in the north of the island, was part of the 18th-century defense system. It offers views over North Bay and the mainland.

Santana do Estreito Fort watches over the entrance to North Bay, beside Beira-Mar Norte. It now houses the Major Lara Ribas Arms Museum.
